If your parts will be manufactured on our CNC equipment, we will generate programs directly from your 3D CAD data. By furnishing us with this data, you will greatly reduce the chance of errors caused by manual data input. Please understand that your 2D drawings, work instructions, and other documentation are also useful and often necessary. If your parts are going to be manufactured on our CNC equipment, we will generate programs directly from your 3D CAD data, and by furnishing us with this data you will greatly reduce the chance of errors caused by manual data input. We can accept data in nearly any format, but strongly prefer solid models over surface or wireframe data.
We work with the following file formats:
Whether your project is fully defined or only in its infancy, our wide range of design and machining services, combined with our methodical approach to workflow, ensure that your job receives outstanding care—from inception to completion.
We can work from a rather wide range of customer-supplied inputs, from the vague to the completely defined. However, the more information you provide, the easier it will be to deliver the quality and service you expect.
Your project is completely defined, and you simply need a quotation. »
We love it when we get complete 3D solid models and assemblies of your parts, accompanied by clear 2D drawings, BOM’s, and other relevant documentation (quantity, desired delivery dates, etc.). Less guessing on our part means that we can quote with confidence and give you realistic pricing and delivery dates.
Your project is less well-defined, or is still in flux. »
We are happy to review your requirements as they evolve and provide feedback as requested. This feedback sometimes takes the form of a design review of your preliminary 3D CAD data as you work toward its completion. We can also offer advice that can help make your project more manufacturable, and therefore less expensive. We are also able to manufacture directly from just your 3D CAD data as long as we understand what you need.
You have sketches or drawings, or perhaps need to reverse-engineer a part. »
Sometimes a customer asks us to take their half-baked designs and just run with it! Depending on your requirements, we can flesh out your design and tie up the loose ends before proceeding to production. We’re quite creative and clever and like to think on our feet!
You need “something” made, but can’t provide more than a description of your need. »
Customers occasionally ask us to design and build test-and-assembly fixtures, jigs, concept prototypes, etc. We’ll typically start such a project by working up a preliminary design using Solidworks or TopSolid to create a 3D digital assembly of what we propose to build. After reviewing and refining the design with your input, we build it. Deliverables can include 3D CAD design databases, 2D drawings, and supporting documentation—as well as the product itself.
